Come celebrate Lunar New Year with us!
Celebrate Lunar New Year with a spectacular lion dance performance from China Spirit UK! This high-energy traditional dance is believed to bring good luck and prosperity for the year ahead.
China Spirit UK will also be providing a workshop in the CSU Studio, which includes:
- Cultural & geographical knowledge - History & tradition of the Chinese Lion
- Teamwork - Learn how to work the life-size puppets in pairs
- Enhancing music development - Learn the rhythm of the traditional Lion Dance drum
- Enhancing physical development - Learn special lion dance steps
- Bring the lions alive with their acquired skills
- An opportunity for creative writing - Lion dance and kung fu performance by us
- Knowledge of a foreign language - Mandarin words and phrases taught throughout the workshop
Depending on weather, the location of the lion dance may move to the CSU foyer.
